COLLEGE
PREP CHEMISTRY WITH LAB
MCFARLAND, TRUAX
This course is for students who have not previously taken a Chemistry course. It is a college preparation course for students interested in attending an academic or technical college. For many degrees CP Chemistry is a pre-requisite to college course work. Class emphasizes mathematical relationships, formulas, equations, atomic structure, gas laws, naming compounds, acids and bases. Therefore, an understanding of algebra is necessary. The class methods of teaching are a combination of lecture, small group practice, drill work, lab
experiments, and worksheets. To take this course a student must register through our counselor by calling the office, take the Accuplacer or bring in your scores. Please bring a scientific calculator.
